O objetivo deste estudo é analisar os determinantes da rendibilidade de uma empresa pública, tomando o caso da REGIDESO. Através da análise do indicador de rendibilidade financeira, identificamos e explicamos os factores que influenciam essa rendibilidade. Os resultados mostram que os recursos financeiros estão positivamente correlacionados com o desempenho, embora não sejam significativos ao nível de 0,05. Por outro lado, as necessidades de financiamento da exploração têm um impacto negativo no desempenho financeiro, enquanto a gestão dos créditos não tem um efeito significativo. Em particular, a gestão rigorosa dos custos operacionais foi considerada um fator-chave para melhorar a rentabilidade financeira. Este estudo sublinha, portanto, a importância de minimizar os custos operacionais para otimizar o desempenho da REGIDESO.
