O presente livro é uma investigação que avaliou os efeitos da utilização de formação e feedback para melhorar a implementação parental de planos de intervenção comportamental (BIP) e os efeitos nos comportamentos problemáticos das crianças em ambientes naturais (casa). Foi realizada uma avaliação funcional indireta dos comportamentos problemáticos para determinar as suas funções. Uma linha de base múltipla entre duplas foi usada para avaliar os efeitos da intervenção. Foram recolhidos dados sobre a implementação correta dos BIPs pelos pais. Os resultados mostram que os pais foram ensinados a implementar os BIPs com sucesso. Além disso, os dados sobre o comportamento das crianças mostraram que a intervenção foi eficaz na redução dos comportamentos problemáticos. A educação e o treinamento dos pais são uma jornada e um processo. É preciso tempo e paciência. Tenho muita sorte por poder ajudar os pais com os seus filhos. O meu objetivo é que os pais tenham uma jornada positiva de aprendizagem sobre como ensinar os seus próprios filhos. São necessárias mais pesquisas na área de formação e apoio aos pais.
