Ao incentivar a construção de um mercado único da eletricidade em África, as interconexões eléctricas parecem ser um excelente vetor de integração económica regional sustentável. No entanto, na África Ocidental, este projeto ambicioso depara-se com uma série de desafios jurídicos que devem ser resolvidos o mais rapidamente possível, a fim de acelerar a criação do mercado regional da eletricidade da África Ocidental. O estudo identifica estes desafios, aborda-os em toda a sua tecnicidade e propõe soluções para os enfrentar.Estes desafios jurídicos estão principalmente relacionados com as condições de desenvolvimento e de funcionamento do mercado, que devem ser melhoradas. Assim, é necessário começar por questionar o modelo de conceção do mercado e os recursos de que dispõem as entidades responsáveis pelo seu desenvolvimento, antes de abordar as suas consequências sobre a organização jurídica das transacções e a eficácia do mecanismo de regulação instituído no mercado.Este livro destina-se principalmente aos profissionais (engenheiros, advogados, economistas, financeiros, decisores, etc.) do sector da energia interessados nas questões energéticas da CEDEAO.
