The relationship between oral tradition and youth is conceived in terms of the extent of the knowledge to be transmitted to the younger generation. It is a duty no less crucial to grasp with deference the challenge that presents itself. The oral poets wanted to convince people to take into consideration our cultural sediments in the mental formation of young people destined to take over the leadership of the peoples. The traditional initiation centred on the quest for knowledge, characterised by resilience and the definition of a model of governance, has not failed to reveal atypical characters charged with the mission of fostering a humanitarian ideal. It must be admitted that questions remain as to the realisation of this social project in today’s world.
