This is Volume 2 of the complete works of Lysias in both Greek and Latin. Lysias (c. 445 - c. 380 BC) was a logographer (speechwriter) in Ancient Greece. He was one of the ten Attic orators included in the Alexandrian Canon compiled by Aristophanes of Byzantium and Aristarchus of Samothrace. Lysias was noted for his Attic style - a concise and restrained manner of writing. His speeches provide valuable insights into Athenian society and legal practices of the time. This edition presents the original Greek text alongside a Latin translation, making it an invaluable resource for scholars and students of classical literature, history, and law. The 'Opera Omnia' offers a comprehensive collection of his surviving orations, showcasing his rhetorical skill and historical significance. This work has been selected by scholars as being culturally important, and is part of the knowledge base of civilization as we know it.
