Խաչիկ Դաշտենց (մայիսի 25, 1910, Դաշտադեմ, Բիթլիսի վիլայեթ, Օսմանյան կայսրություն - մարտի 9, 1974, Երևան, Հայկական ԽՍՀ, ԽՍՀՄ), հայ խորհրդային գրող, բանաստեղծ, արձակագիր, թարգմանիչ, բանասեր։ ԽՍՀՄ Գրողների միության անդամ էր 1934 թվականից։ ՀԽՍՀ մշակույթի վաստակավոր գործիչ (1967): Բանասիրական գիտությունների թեկնածու։ Դաշտենց գրական անունը ստացել է հայրենի Դաշտադեմ գյուղի անունից։  Խաչիկ Դաշտենցը միջնակարգ կրթությունը ստացել է Ալեքսանդրապոլի (այժմ՝ Գյումրի) ամերիկյան մանկատանը։ Ուսուցչությամբ է զբաղվել ՀԽՍՀ Լենինականի գավառի Հոռոմ և Սառնաղբյուր գյուղերում։ Ավարտել է Երևանի պետական համալսարանի լեզվագրական ֆակուլտետը (1932 թ.), Մոսկվայի օտար լեզուների ինստիտուտի անգլիական բաժինը (1940 թ.)։ 1932-1934 թթ. որպես բաժնի վարիչ աշխատել է Ավանգարդ թերթի խմբագրությունում։ Խաչիկ Դաշտենցը 1940-1941 թթ. դասախոսել է Երևանի պետական համալսարանում, 1941-1948 թթ.՝ Երևանի Վալերի Բրյուսովի անվան օտար լեզուների մանկավարժական ինստիտուտում, 1960-1966 թվականներին՝ Կառլ Մարքսի անվան Պոլիտեխնիկական ինստիտուտում։ 1965 թվականին պաշտպանել է թեկնածուական ատենախոսություն Բայրոնը և հայերը խորագրով և ստացել բանասիրական գիտությունների թեկնածուի աստիճան։ 1965-1974 թվականներին աշխատել է ՀԽՍՀ ԳԱ արվեստի ինստիտուտում որպես ավագ գիտաշխատող։ Թարգմանվել և առանձին գրքերով լույս են տեսել նրա Խոդեդան վեպը (Երևան, 1961) և Ռանչպարների կանչը վիպասքը (Մոսկվա, 1984)։ Խաչիկ Դաշտենցը մահացել է 1974 թ. մարտի 9-ին Երևանում։
