Get ready for an exciting romantic filled adventure of poetry that will fill your minds with what true romanticism can be. I have written poems for several occasions; i.e. wedding of my sister 'The Special Lily You Are', funeral of my grandfather (Jerry D Dobie) 'Perfect Love (Just Right)', funeral of my friend(Gerald Roberts) 'The Road Ahead (The Gerald Roberts Tribute)' as well as a tribute to the Sandy Hook tragedy 'Strive Through (The Sandy Hook School Shooting Tribute)', Boston Marathon tragedy (Dust Yourself Off (The Boston Incident) and (Nelson Mandela) 'Keep Strong (A Poem Of Hope For Nelson Mandela)'. Several of my poems have been published in the hometown paper and people throughout the community have given positive feedback which further encouraged me to continue. There are some poems in here that are targeted for lifting others up when they need it most. The focus of my poetry is to embrace romantic ideals. It’s a journey of life, love and lessons. My youth pastor, Kendal Sheen, helped with the style, flow and length at the start of writing. The prayers of my parents, grandparents and others in my community have been a great encouragement to keep on keeping on. Many times during the experience of being with people I get an inspiration for writing a poem. At the very beginning of writing poetry, while I was writing a novel, the words 'Only To See' grabbed my attention and became the launch pad for my first poem. Also, music from the bands, Journey, Richard Marx, The Outfield, and so many others have inspired my poetry writings. Matter of fact, I had started writing the poems as lyrics for possibly being used in songs. There may be a special moment in your life where you need a poem to help with a certain life situation when words fail you. Then there is the time of engagement. That special time where you remind your loved one that you still are in love with them. My poetry will reinvigorate that in both of your minds and those around you. Then there

    Jennifer Chrystie
‘There’s a touch of both Dickinson and Larkin in Jennifer Chrystie’s mature exhumation of the tales and tropes of family. Figures who could so easily flit like phantoms in her well honed poetry are palpably enjoying an after-life in the poet’s ability to redeem through deep understanding. The collection arcs from, at one extreme, the parsimonies of the household, to the transce...

  • One Kiss
    Edward V Bonner
The very title of Edward V. Bonner's first volume of poetry, One Kiss (Ingram, 2015), suggests some ways in which the poems inside balance the universal with the particular. Most of the poems examine the themes of beauty and risk, pleasure and danger, in the context of one of three kinds of relationships: to romantic partners, to the spiritual world, and to the world of nature....

  • The Truth about A
