'One Hundred Nights of Yearning' is a collection of poems by Mansour Noorbakhsh, composed from the year 2009 onward, with the exception of one poem written in 1981. These poems either bear witness to the wounds and outcries of the Iranian people over these years or reflect the poet’s contemplations and introspections. Most of these poems are undated, as they express a pain that has echoed and repeated throughout all these years.Mansour Noorbakhsh is a poet, writer, and translator, creating works in both English and Persian (Farsi), his native language. His writings advocate for freedom, human rights, and environmental awareness. He believes that dialogue between people across the world is essential for fostering peace, and that poetry serves as a powerful medium to amplify the call for human rights. Mansour is the York Region Branch Manager and a Member-at-Large on the Executive of The Ontario Poetry Society. He has also hosted The Contemporary Canadian Poets, a weekly Persian radio program (persianradio.net | Telegram: Ottawa Radio). In this program, he introduces Canadian poets to Persian-speaking audiences by translating their biographies and poetry into Farsi. Both English readings (by the poets) and Persian readings (by Mansour) are broadcasted, fostering cultural exchange between Persian-speaking communities and Canadian literature. Publications Mansour has published several books, articles, and poems in Persian, including: به سراغ من اگر می آیید / زندگی و شعر سهراب سپهری (Life and Poetry of Sohrab Sepehri), Morvarid, Tehran, 1997. دیدار با فلق / زندگی و شعر منوچهر آتشی (Life and Poetry of Manuchehr Atashi), Jameshenasan, Tehran, 2024. Edward V Bonner
The very title of Edward V. Bonner's first volume of poetry, One Kiss (Ingram, 2015), suggests some ways in which the poems inside balance the universal with the particular. Most of the poems examine the themes of beauty and risk, pleasure and danger, in the context of one of three kinds of relationships: to romantic partners, to the spiritual world, and to the world of nature....
