On The Border is a novel written by Edmund Kirke. The book is set in the 19th century and tells the story of a young man named Harry who lives on the border between the United States and Mexico. Harry’s father is a wealthy landowner and Harry has grown up with a privileged lifestyle. However, when his father dies, Harry is forced to take over the family business and manage the land.As Harry begins to take on more responsibility, he becomes aware of the tensions between the Mexicans and Americans living on the border. He also becomes involved in a romantic relationship with a Mexican woman named Carmen. Their relationship is complicated by the cultural differences between them and the political tensions in the area.As Harry navigates the challenges of managing his family’s land and dealing with the tensions on the border, he also begins to question his own beliefs and values. He must decide whether to follow in his father’s footsteps and maintain the status quo or to take a more progressive approach and work towards peace and understanding between the two cultures. On The Border is a thought-provoking novel that explores themes of cultural identity, racism, and the struggle for power and control. It is a compelling story that will keep readers engaged from beginning to end. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
