Die meisten großen Katastrophen in der Offshore-Industrie sind oft auf strukturelle Versagen zurückzuführen, die durch angemessene Inspektionen hätten verhindert werden können. Um den sicheren Betrieb unserer alternden Offshore-Anlagen zu gewährleisten, sind hochzuverlässige Inspektionstechniken erforderlich, um die strukturelle Integrität dieser Anlagen zu überwachen. Dieses Buch beleuchtet solche Inspektionstechniken wie Wechselstromfeldmessung, Langstreckenultraschall, digitale Radiographie, Phased Array usw. hinsichtlich ihrer Funktionsweise, Anwendung, Einschränkungen, Empfindlichkeit und Erkennungswahrscheinlichkeit (POD) sowie der verfügbaren Zertifizierungssysteme für NDT-Personal. Die Analyse dieser Techniken ergab eine hohe Zuverlässigkeit mit einer Erkennungswahrscheinlichkeit von über 90 % bei einer minimalen Fehlergröße von 2 mm und einem Konfidenzniveau von 95 % für alle Techniken. Eine derart hohe Zuverlässigkeit ist erforderlich, um regelmäßige Inspektionen unserer Offshore-Anlagen gemäß den relevanten Abschnitten der Normen ISO 19902:2007 und DNV-OS-F401:2013 für die Bewertung der strukturellen Integrität von Offshore-Anlagen durchzuführen.
