On December 11, 2006 Dr. Francis V. Adams was sworn in as a Police Surgeon with the NYPD. Motivated to join the force as a pulmonologist with interest in injuries resulting from 9/11, Dr. Adams was not entirely sure what his new position would entail. In OFFICER DOWN Dr. Adams recounts his experiences over a five year period with the NYPD as he encounters members of the service with both physical and psychological injuries.
