He discusses these dreams and the issues around the second coming without reaching any definite conclusions. He leaves the issue open and concludes the book with a discussion of what will happen to the earth and human race when the white dwarf companion of the star Sirius novates. The radiation and resulting cloud of debris will exterminate 99.9 percent of humanity. It will destroy all norms of civilization. How do we ensure humanity has a future beyond this terrible event? What is the ultimate fate of humanity? Believe it or not, the book ends on a positive note for the future of humanity.
