Paul Yaris is an aging hit man assigned to do one last job. He must go to a small town in the south of France, track down a rogue agent, and eliminate him. When he sets out on his mission, he knows what he must do. But on his journey, he discovers that the path to his redemption lies in the soul of a terminally ill, blind little girl named Amelie. The goodness and light that radiate from Amelie change Paul and makes him realize that there are greater forces in the world than evil.As he hunts for his target, he is troubled by the thought of continuing down the path to completion of his last job and of the consequences his actions will have on Amelie, her family, and the small village where the agent is hiding. Now, Paul must make one last attempt at finishing his task and saving his soul.

Paul Keller is the Stephen Dedalus of the piece, the son of Robert and Sylvie, whose internal monologue is spliced into the action, and whose incestuous feelings for his sister lead to an increase in his...
