The use of organic solvents has grown dramatically in a number of industrial activities in recent decades. As these substances can have neurotoxic effects, occupational exposure has become a concern for occupational health. The interface between Occupational Health and Neurosciences is important in terms of collaborating with the development of measures to promote, prevent and protect against the possible problems resulting from occupational exposure to organic solvents. It is believed that visual functions can be indicative of early alterations in the central nervous system of individuals chronically exposed to solvents.
