Bilal Shafique uzyskał tytuł magistra fizyki na Uniwersytecie Azad Jammu i Kaszmiru w Muzaffarabadzie w Pakistanie w 2011 roku. Zajmował się pasywnymi pomiarami radonu i toronu przy użyciu półprzewodnikowych detektorów śladów jądrowych CR-39. Wyniki swoich badań zaprezentował podczas Międzynarodowego Sympozjum poświęconego narażeniu na promieniowanie naturalne oraz epidemiologicznym badaniom nad promieniowaniem niskodawkowym (NARE-2012) w Hirosaki w Japonii. Jego prezentacja spotkała się z pozytywnym odbiorem w środowisku naukowym. W 2014 r. uzyskał tytuł magistra filozofii (M.Phil) z fizyki promieniowania na tej samej uczelni i przeprowadził badania dotyczące analizy szeregów czasowych stężenia radonu w pomieszczeniach wzdłuż linii uskoku w Muzaffarabadzie w Azad Kaszmirze. Wyniki tych badań zaprezentował również podczas 59. dorocznego spotkania Towarzystwa Fizyki Medycznej (HPS) w Baltimore w stanie Maryland w USA w lipcu 2014 r. Posiada doświadczenie dydaktyczne i badawcze w tej dziedzinie.
