Novela histórica en la que María Elena Laborde y Pérez Treviño relata sucesos acontecidos en 1936, dentro de la embajada de México en Madrid, durante los primeros meses de la Guerra Civil Española, siendo embajador el general Manuel Pérez Treviño, quien dio asilo, luchó conjuntamente con su equipo así como con diplomáticos de otros países por los Derechos Humanos, salvando vidas de infinidad de españoles, sin importar religión, clase social o preferencia política. Novel of facts that happened at the mexican embassy in Madrid during the first six months of the spanish civil war... while the embassador was Manuel Pérez Treviño, who fighted with his diplomatic team for the civil rights of the ones that asked for diplomatic asylum within the mexican embassy, saving many lives. Dos casas de grandes dimensiones fungieron como refugio en Madrid, dado que embajadas se consideran suelo del país en cuestión, en este caso, suelo mexicano. Parte de esos asilados fueron evacuados a Francia salvaguardados por los diplomáticos mexicanos, labor que negoció con los Republicanos el general Manuel Pérez Treviño. El listado oficial de estos asilados forma parte del libro como Anexo I. The official list of part of the people that was at the embassy is shown, the ones that were protected by the mexicans until they arrival to France. Se incluyen fotografías así como testimonios de personas que estuvieron asiladas. Photographs and witnesses of people that was within the mexican soil in Madrid are also shown. La autora y editora trabajó durante seis años esta novela, llevó a cabo investigación documental tanto en México como en España, logró contactar a asilados, así como a familiares de éstos, especializada en genealogía, prosopología y paleografía, cursó en los años 2011 y 2012 diplomados  de novela histórica en México, becada por la Dirección del Castillo de Chapultepec, impartida por la Uiversidad Iberoamericana Campus Santa Fe, teniendo como maestros a Alfredo Ruíz Islas así como a Antonio Malpica Maury (Premio Iberoamericano SM literatura infantil y juvenil).  Así mismo estuvo asesorada por el historiador Real Academia de Historia, Subdirector del Departamento de Historia y Filosofía, Vicedecano Universidad de Alcalá de Henares.  El español Antonio Manuel Moral Roncal.
