Dans les romans naturalistes de Huysmans, la femme dont le corps est toujours sous le regard masculin subit l’objectivation. Avec la comparaison ou la métaphore, la femme est objectivée en animal, en monstre et en parasite. Et il arrive que la femme s’auto-objective lorsqu’elle subit la violence. Sur le plan sexuel, la femme est objectivée en remède à la crise juponnière et au chagrin d’amour de l’homme. Il est à noter que la prostituée subit l’objectivation sexuelle de toute la société. En fait, sous la plume de Huysmans, la femme objectivée est Janus à double face. D’une part, la femme est angélique comme une rade qui abrite l’homme des ennuis. D’autre part, elle est diabolique en privant l’homme de la tranquillité, de l’amitié et du talent. Cette double face des personnages féminins montre l’attitude ambivalente de Huysmans influencée par Schopenhauer et Baudelaire. De plus, la révolte des personnages féminins contre l’objectivation fait preuve de la préoccupation de Huysmans à l’égard de la souffrance féminine.
