Esta investigação explora o papel da televisão na desestabilização do autismo. Realizámos este estudo com 14 crianças que frequentam a Unidade Regional de Reabilitação, com o objetivo de evidenciar o efeito dos ecrãs e dos programas televisivos nas crianças durante os primeiros meses de vida. Começámos por diagnosticar os casos suspeitos de autismo através de uma escala de avaliação CARS, verificar se as crianças autistas tinham sido expostas precocemente à televisão e, numa segunda fase, reavaliar o estado das crianças após ter proibido toda a exposição aos ecrãs. Os resultados obtidos mostram uma melhoria da sintomatologia autista após a proibição da televisão, o que atesta o efeito negativo dos ecrãs no desenvolvimento afetivo e social das crianças.
