Este trabalho investiga o impacto do investimento direto estrangeiro sobre as desigualdades de rendimento nos países ricos em recursos naturais. A investigação não analisa isoladamente o impacto nos países ricos em recursos, mas compara-o com o impacto do IDE num país escasso em recursos. Os países escolhidos são, respetivamente, a Argélia e a Tunísia durante o período de 2003-2013. A análise baseia-se em indicadores económicos, tendo em consideração os recursos como variável. O objetivo desta análise é definir e elaborar uma correlação entre o impacto do IDE nas desigualdades de rendimento através dos recursos naturais como canal. A teoria baseia-se no modelo de Stopler e Samuelson, que afirma que o aumento do preço das mercadorias intensivas em capital leva ao aumento do retorno do capital e, inversamente, à queda do retorno do trabalho e dos salários. A investigação também considera a curva de Kuznet, que defende que, nas fases iniciais do desenvolvimento, as desigualdades de rendimento tendem a aumentar. Nesta análise, verificou-se que a dotação de recursos é responsável por algumas leis e regulamentos que estão a incentivar alguns tipos de IDE, aumentando as desigualdades de rendimento.
