Consequentemente, este livro procurou explicar o impacto ambiental na história tradicional da Zâmbia. O livro destacou o desenvolvimento da medicina tradicional a nível mundial, a perspetiva africana e a história da medicina tradicional na Zâmbia. O valor dos conhecimentos médicos tradicionais autóctones e o impacto ambiental foram amplamente discutidos. O livro sublinha igualmente que a medicina tradicional é muito importante na Zâmbia e tem sido utilizada desde o período pré-colonial e colonial. Por conseguinte, é muito imperativo salvaguardar e preservar o nosso ambiente, a fim de proteger as plantas medicinais.
