Este livro explica o efeito da complexidade da tarefa na precisão gramatical dos alunos iranianos de EFL no discurso escrito, através de um estudo que foi investigado utilizando uma imagem de banda desenhada e 60 alunos intermédios que foramselecionados de entre os alunos do Instituto Kish em Sari - Irão.Neste livro, começamos por analisar a relação entre a escrita e o ensino de línguas baseado em tarefas, pelo que descrevemos temas como a escrita, as tarefas, as abordagens às tarefas e a complexidade das tarefas.A língua e a escrita são dois sistemas de signos distintos, o segundo existe com o único propósito de representar o primeiro; o objeto linguístico não é tanto a forma escrita como a forma falada das palavras, apenas as formas faladas constituem os objectos. (sausure 1959: 23)
