NOVEM PORTIS was used as the centerpiece for the 1999 movie: The Ninth Gate; directed by Roman Polanski and starring Johnny Depp. This rare book was alleged to grant the owner access to the supernatural powers of The Kingdom of Shadows (Hell). The text is in coded and encrypted Latin and the 413-page book contains nine medieval woodcut engravings that play a fundamental role in the process of summoning demonic forces. This book is the result of much research and a careful reconstruction and editing of the original text by Michael James Jaquish and it contains all nine original engravings shown in the movie. The spirit world holds many mysteries and this book is one of them. It is intended as a curiosity piece only and it is HIGHLY recommended that anyone purchasing this book refrain from using it to summon the forces of darkness.
