La compagnia teatrale 'Gli Arzaghesi' ha al suo attivo numerosi spettacoli teatrali in dialetto e in italiano, oltre a diverse rappresentazioni sacre di quadri viventi. Gli spettacoli in dialetto sono normalmente commedie inframmezzate da brani musicali. Sono appunto i testi di questi brani le 'poesie' oggetto di questo volumetto. Sono scritti in arzaghese, cioè nel dialetto gallo-italico di Arzago d´Adda, il paese della bassa bergamasca in cui ha sede la compagnia. Ogni poesia è preceduta da una breve introduzione ed è anche tradotta in italiano. Nel volumetto sono presenti anche un paragrafo sull´ortografia adottata per la trascrizione e un breve commento sugli aggettivi e i pronomi dimostrativi in arzaghese, quest´ultimo rivolto a coloro che volessero sapere perché nelle poesie sono usate certe forme 'strane' rispetto a quelle dell´italiano. Chiude il volumetto un breve capitolo su Arzago nell’800, con scritti dell’epoca.
