North of the Law is a novel written by Samuel Alexander White and published in 1920. The story takes place in the early 1900s in the Canadian wilderness, where a group of men are engaged in a dangerous and illegal fur trading operation. The protagonist, Jimmie Dale, is a young man who is forced to join this operation after being falsely accused of a crime. Jimmie Dale soon finds himself caught up in a web of deceit and betrayal as he struggles to survive in the harsh wilderness and evade the law. Along the way, he meets a variety of colorful characters, including a mysterious woman who may hold the key to his freedom. As Jimmie Dale fights for his life and his freedom, he must also confront his own moral code and decide whether to stay true to his principles or succumb to the lawless world in which he finds himself. North of the Law is a thrilling adventure story that explores themes of justice, morality, and survival in the face of adversity. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
