However,Jamie chose to abuse his body with alcohol and drugs, and one night he and afriend were in a severe car accident when he and his friend wrapped their vehiclearound a telephone pole. On the brink of death, Jamie lied in a coma for fourteenweeks, only to submerge with a survive head injury. With his disability, missing teeth,and all the muscles on his right side of his body gone, he reached out to God for help.After three and a half years of therapy and a decade of healing, God helped Jamie recoverfrom his brain injury with the help of poetry.
