I don't know how you got hold of this book, if it was recommended by a friend, a family member or your English teacher, if you just got it randomly for Christmas and don't know what to do with it at this point or whether you were just bored looking around a bookstore and happened to end up picking out this book, maybe it wasn't in the right shelf or it had fallen on the ground and you are that person that picked it up. I don't know if it was the cover, the size or this back cover that you're still reading. Maybe you bought it by accident and don't know what to do with it. Either way, you have it, for this reason or that, or any other reason I might've not mentioned, because thank God the world is full of more possibilities than the ones I've just written. It talks about you, whoever you are and wherever you may be, but it talks about you in one way or another. You might like it, you might hate it, but the might is what makes the risk all worth it. A 17-year-old girl from the 21st century runs away from her home in Los Angeles and heads on a road trip to New York City to publish her novel. Whilst she's embarked on this journey, she's in the middle of writing her novel, where she aims to understand the world around her, who she is and what she wants. She leaves after disastrous events of her childhood. Nobody knows who she is, her name, how she looks like, except the reader, and when she wants to tell her or him. The book is her reflection, an extension of who the protagonist is. Throughout her trip, she meets all types of people, who contribute to her final act at the end of the novel.

  • Meritocrats
    Stuart Evans
Stuart Evans’s first novel is a comedy-of-ill-manners set in a nouveau riche milieu: a fantastic satirical performance and hyper-referential homage to masters past and present. Paul Keller is the Stephen Dedalus of the piece, the son of Robert and Sylvie, whose internal monologue is spliced into the action, and whose incestuous feelings for his sister lead to an increase in his...
