Автор прослеживает политическое, экономическое и социальное развитие Гренландии - крупнейшего острова в мире, который в настоящее время является самоуправляемой территорией Дании. Эконометрический анализ, охвативший полувековой период между 1970 и 2020 гг., проводился с использованием неоклассической и эндогенной моделей роста. В качестве эндогенной автор выбрал общую, или мировую модель со встроенным механизмом технического прогресса, разработанную профессором Дьёрдем Шимоном-старшим (1930-2008) на основе статистических данных 131 страны, включая Данию. Эта модель роста кальдоровского типа учитывает не только физический и человеческий капитал, но и время в его роли событийного пространства креативной экономической деятельности. Она, в частности, позволяет сравнивать общую факторную эффективность с мировым уровнем.
