Kristian Zenz stories the everyday routine of the average working individual, in their own nine-to-five and afterwards. Twenty-four poems and twenty-four art pieces detail the monotony of life confined to a daily cycle, climbing in a crescendo of fatigue and burnout. The writers latest collection proves to be his most mature and polished, yet sensitive and emotional poetry to date. Showcasing Zenz’s inspiration from music, the book is split into three sections: morning, afternoon, and evening. Described via monarch migrations, frozen custard dates, and prairie fires, the stories told culminate in a collection detailing the cycle we force ourselves to grow accustomed to. Kristian Zenz strikes a balance between the delicate precision of contemporary poetry with the raw, visceral emotion in spoken-word presentation. Within his third poetry + art collection published, Zenz creates his most complete and compelling work so far.
