O nimesulida é um fármaco, com fórmula estrutural C13H12N2O5S, massa molecular 308,31g mol-1. É da classe dos anti-inflamatórios não-esteroides (AINES) e atua inibindo a biossíntese de prostaglandinas, através de um bloqueio competitivo da enzima ciclooxigenase (COX) combatendo, assim, os processos inflamatórios, dores e febre. Entretanto um grande problema acerca de seu uso é sua baixa solubilidade em meio aquoso. Foi realizado a dinâmica de Car-Parrinello em meio aquoso para estudar sua baixa solubilidade e em meio etanólico para fins comparativos e corroboração com resultados experimentais citados na literatura. Para elucidação das análises, foi realizado cálculos de Teoria do Funcional de Densidade (DFT) e analisados as estruturas eletrônicas a qual forneciam propriedades importantes de possíveis regiões de solvatação. Foram comparados nossos resultados com dados experimentais obtidos por difração de raios-x por meio de análise de comprimentos e ângulos de ligação, sendo que posteriormente foi realizado cálculo de erro entre as estruturas obtidas por meio do método RMSD.
