Trotzdem sind Rauchertherapien ein relativ neuer Bereich im Gesundheitswesen. Neue Verfahren zur Behandlung der Nikotinabhängigkeit wurden entwickelt und erfordern von Berufsgruppen des Gesundheits- und Sozialwesens eine kontinuierliche Auseinandersetzung damit. Dieses Buch zum Thema Nikotinabhängigkeit wendet sich an Sozial- und Allgemeinmediziner, Psychotherapeuten und Psychiater sowie Laien mit Interesse an der Tabakentwöhnung und dem sogenannten 'reduzierten Rauchen'. Neben den neuesten Erkenntnissen über die Auswirkungen des Rauchens auf den Organismus und die Rolle des Nikotins als abhängigmachende Substanz wird das Tabakproblem aus internationaler Sicht analysiert. Besonders hervorgehoben werden praxisorientierte diagnostische und therapeutische Verfahren sowie aktuelle und zukunftsweisende Organisationsformen der Rauchertherapie. Erste Erfahrungen mit erfolgreichen Programmen der stationären Raucherentwöhnung sind hier nachzulesen. Die in diesem Lehrbuch unterbreiteten Vorschläge zur Rauchertherapie im klinischen Bereich werden mit Arbeitsbögen, Folien- und Diavorlagen für die Praxis ergänzt.
