Niepróchnicowe zmiany szyjki macicy (NCCL) oznaczają postępującą utratę struktury zęba na styku cementowo-szlifowym, niezwiązaną z próchnicą, z częstością występowania wahającą się od 0,8% do 85,7%. Zmiany te często objawiają się jako wady w kształcie klina lub spodka, a ich częstotliwość i nasilenie zwiększają się wraz z wiekiem ze względu na długotrwałe narażenie na wiele czynników etiologicznych. Głównymi przyczynami są zużycie mechaniczne spowodowane niewłaściwym szczotkowaniem zębów, erozja chemiczna spowodowana kwasami pokarmowymi i naprężenia biomechaniczne, takie jak abfrakcja.
