Heir of Søren Kierkegaard and a precursor of continental existentialism, Miguel de Unamuno (Spain, 1864-1936) is one of the main European philosophers of the 20th century, and an outstanding Generation of ’98 author. Love, deceit and metafiction at its best are some of the ingredients of Niebla (’fog’), as antihero Augusto struggles to see the light through the mist of good and bad occurrences that obscure humanity’s vision. Niebla (1914), is one of Unamuno’s most popular titles and a Spanish classic. The author’s approachable and modern style makes it an excellent choice for anyone seeking to expand their knowledge of the Spanish language.
