Thereare specialised areas including official, regimental and divisional histories; naval andaeronautical books; medals and awards; uniforms; and weapons both edged andballistic.N&MP’s latest publishing partnership is with the Royal Geographic Society withwhom it has launched a new imprint, Rediscovery Books. Rediscovery is a newdeparture from purely military matters, focusing on the fantastic world of historictravel and exploration. It now has some 50 titles in print, including epic journeys andexpeditions form the golden age of exploration in the Victorian era.Chris believes that his readers’ tastes and interests are as eclectic and wide-ranging ashis own. If there is an emphasis in his choice of titles, it is perhaps in seeking toreproduce the authentic experience and voice of the common soldier. ’In my viewthere is no substitute for reading first-hand accounts of war by those who took partat the sharp end,’ he says.
