Entwicklungsländer sind besonders anfällig für die Auswirkungen von Naturkatastrophen und Klimawandel, da diese ihre Entwicklungsprozesse beeinträchtigen und die Bemühungen zur Armutsbekämpfung zurückwerfen. Unter Verwendung eines einzigartigen Datensatzes für das ländliche Kambodscha, der auf einer Umfrage, experimentellen Spielen und einem diskreten Auswahlexperiment basiert, unterstreicht die Studie die Bedeutung von Wahrnehmungen, Erwartungen und psychologischen Faktoren in Entscheidungsprozessen mit erheblichen Folgen für langfristige wirtschaftliche Perspektiven und die Armutsbekämpfung.
