Natural Born Citizen is not written as a story. It is written in the form of a table talk thought experiment, an 'If this is so, then this is so' conversation with citizens who also are not Constitution law scholars with understanding of the nuances of language. Here is a table talk thought experiment example with an if-then-so commonsense conclusion: If the original intent for eligibility to be president is only singular US citizenship passed on to a child only by birth alone only on US soil only to two US citizens only married only to each other only before a child is born, then original intent cannot be birth to two citizens who are not married and cannot be birth to married aliens who have not naturalized.Parents who are not US citizens cannot pass on to a child what they do not have--only singular US citizenship. The legal marriage of two citizens before a child is born determines the legal singular citizenship of a child. A legal marriage is like the centerline on a two-way road with only one lane each way. Don’t cross the legal line. It’s there for a legitimate safety (national security) reason. If the Constitutional Convention delegates who authored Article II, Section 1, Clause 5 intended either singular or dual citizenship for eligibility to be president, they would have debated the legal issue of the birth issue to clarify their original intent for their own posterity. Since they did not debate singular versus dual citizenship, if-then-so only singular US citizenship was their original intent for eligibility to be president. Common sense, right?
