മതനിരപേക്ഷത സംരക്ഷിക്കണമെങ്കില് മതത്തിന്റെ പേരില് പൗരത്വം നിശ്ചയിക്കുന്നത് അനുവദിക്കാനാവില്ല. ഒരു ഭാഷ മതി എന്നു പറയുന്നവരോട് പല ഭാഷകള് വേണമെന്നു നമ്മള് പറയുന്നു. ഒരു മതം മതി എന്നു പറയുന്നവരോട് എല്ലാ മതങ്ങളും വേണം എന്നു നാം പറയുന്നു. ചില വിഭാഗങ്ങള്ക്കു മാത്രം മതി പൗരത്വം എന്നു പറയുന്നവരോട് ഇന്ത്യക്കാര്ക്കാകെ അവകാശപ്പെട്ടതാണ് പൗരത്വം എന്നു നാം പ്രഖ്യാപിക്കുന്നു. അങ്ങനെ മതേതരത്വത്തെ ഉയര്ത്തിപ്പിടിക്കുകയും മതേതര ഇന്ത്യയെ സംരക്ഷിക്കുകയും ചെയ്യുന്നു.
