Aspergillus spp. ist ein ubiquitärer Pilz, der häufig im Boden, im Wasser und in verrottender Vegetation vorkommt. Die Mitglieder der Gattung Aspergillus bilden eine wichtige Gruppe von Krankheitserregern des bronchopulmonalen Systems. Das Spektrum der von ihnen verursachten Krankheiten umfasst Aspergillom, chronische nekrotisierende Lungenaspergillose, invasive Lungenaspergillose, allergische bronchopulmonale Aspergillose (ABPA), Bronchialasthma und allergische Alveolitis. Die vorliegende Studie wurde durchgeführt, um die Prävalenz von Aspergillen und Antikörpern gegen Aspergillus spp. bei Bronchialasthmatikern mit Hilfe kultureller Methoden und serologischer Verfahren wie ELISA zu ermitteln.
