​Richard Salomon geht mittels einer empirischen Untersuchung der Frage nach: „Welche strategischen Voraussetzungen führen zu Erfolg in strate­gischen Allianzen?'. Hierbei entwirft er ein Modell, das eine Vielzahlvon Strategien, die zur Bildung einer strategischen Allianz relevant sind,prinzipiell ordnet und in eine dreischichtige Struktur überführt. Aus demSchema dieses Modells leitet er fünf Hypothesen ab, welche zum einen dieSchlüssigkeit des Modells und zum anderen die Erfolgswahrscheinlichkeiten resp.Voraussetzungen für das Gelingen strategischer Allianzen zeigen sollen. Damit kann über statistische Testverfahren wie c²-Unabhängigkeitstest, t-Test, lineare Mehrfachregression und ANOVA letztendlich untermauert werden, dass die dreischichtige Struktur eine stimmige inhärente Logik aufweist und für die praktische Anwendung in potenziellen strategischen Allianzen geeignet ist.
