I used to love Sundays. There was a time I walked into Bethel Grace with nothing on my mind but worship. I sang in the choir. I closed my eyes during the hymns and meant every word. Church was the one place I could set everything down and just be still. I was at peace. Then she came back into my life, and Sundays stopped being Sundays. I’d known Evelyn Carrow since we were teenagers in the same small village back home, the same pews, years of quiet, unspoken love neither of us dared to name. When she finally moved to my city, everything I’d waited for since I was sixteen years old finally became real. For six months, I thought I’d found the life I was always meant to have. Then she ended it. Cold. Sudden. No explanation. I kept going to church anyway, because it was my routine, my normal life. But the moment my eyes found her, my whole day was ruined. I never prayed. I never sang. I never healed. Every Sunday reopened the same wound, fresh, like it had never closed at all. I’d spend the week convincing myself I was fine, that I’d finally moved on, strong enough to face her again. Then Sunday would come, and I’d walk out worse than the week before. I told myself I just wanted my Sundays back. What I found instead was a truth I never saw coming, one that would put everything, and everyone, I loved in danger. MYSTERY SUNDAYS a slow-burn romantic suspense about faith, fear, and the lies we tell to protect the people we love.
