She married briefly in the late 1970s - a tumultuous abusive nightmare that paralyzed her sensibilities. After this chasmic low, and despite two therapists saying that she should be in a padded room after her experience, she carried on with quiet resolve, resolute determination, and a divorce. She threw herself into her work, surrounded herself with her supportive friends, and continued on. She worked in the world of magazines and newspapers for twenty years.
