Mary has climbed many mountains to create a collection of poems touching on her extensive varied interests. The first chapter Reflections are thoughts, that are sad or uplifting that herself and others have experienced through time. Nature’s Palette is a colourful panorama of the country side whether in Buckinghamshire or further afield. Ultraminus got its inspiration from a Rotary Caravan Rally to Wales and John Runcies book 'The Colour of Heaven' As did The Lilies of the Field from the Bible but flowers from the Dales. Television programmes can also be a catalyst, like the one about a sea eagle on Loch Maree so when the W. I wanted one on global warming it was already written. People and Place shows the Connection with mankind whether building a stonewall or constructing the Angel of the North. Tales to Tell are either fanciful like the Seven Deadly Sins or historical Saga of the Mary Rose or a bit of both in writing the Winchester Bible. Memorable Moments are her stream of thoughts that have not been washed away by the Mountain Stream, Pen and Brush are now the King.

Figures who could so easily flit like phantoms in her well honed poetry are palpably enjoying an after-life in the poet’s ability to redeem through deep understanding. The collection arcs from, at one extreme, the parsimonies of the household, to the transce...

    Edward V Bonner
The very title of Edward V. Bonner's first volume of poetry, One Kiss (Ingram, 2015), suggests some ways in which the poems inside balance the universal with the particular.
