Because Sasha chose to leave, her mother had some ill feelings toward her.Once you read this book, youll gain a better understanding about Sashas life and the reason she wanted to leave Guyana. Sasha had dreams, and she knew in her heart if she stayed with her mother, Leah, she would have to accept those dreams would never come true, and she didnt want that to happen.
