This collection brings together poems whose language of vision is in immediate, unmediated dialogue with objects, nature, and the surrounding world. The world of being reaches the author’s eyes and ears through a visual, space-transcending language; in arranging words, he strives to become a full-length mirror of the tangible immediacy of what he hears and sees. In the selections of this volume, the poet neither binds himself to any particular literary style nor claims to have created a new one. Rather, he has not shied away from experiencing and testing the turbulent unconscious, allowing ambiguity and multilayeredness to render the poems more open to interpretation for the attentive, poetry-loving reader. The fragmentariness of dreams-dreams that breathe independently of the poet and awaken to set the respiratory stammer of language flowing across the page, extending its wounds and bleedings into the outer world. Voices that are heard but not truly listened to. At times, silence becomes so overwhelming that, in its very wordlessness and soundlessness, it expresses itself fluently, like poetry. The interaction of human and nature in the absence of language; the bird and its fearful closeness to the author; the gaze as a shared, peace-seeking language in the world of existence; and the intertwining of solitude and nostalgia-these constitute the narrative of this volume. This collection is the fourth book of poetry by Hadi Ebrahimi Roudbaraki to be published outside his homeland. Hadi Ebrahimi Rudbarki, born in 1954 in Rasht, is a poet, writer, and editor-in-chief of Shahrgon Online, a journal dedicated to the Iranian cultural diaspora in Vancouver, Canada. Ebrahimi’s literary and artistic activities began with the publication of the periodical Forough in Lahijan in 1971. His poems have been regularly published in Negin, Ferdowsi, Gileh-Mard, Gardon, Tajrobeh, Shahrvand Canada, and Shahrgon Online. He started his cultural work in the Iranian cultural diaspora in Canada in 1992 with the magazine Nama-ye Iran and later evolved into publishing Ayandeh and Shahrvand Vancouver. Since 2005, he has been managing the Shahrgon website. In 2003, alongside the founding of Hedayat Bookstore in North Vancouver, Ebrahimi began publishing books by poets and writers from the Iranian cultural diaspora, releasing over 10 books through Ayandeh Publishing and Shahrgon Publishing. He also co-founded the Hedayat Cultural center in 2003 with several Iranian poets and writers living in Vancouver. After Hedayat Bookstore closed in 2007, the association continued intermittently under the name 'Adineh Shab.'In 2010, Ebrahimi established the Shahrgon Radio, where he continued his activities until 2015.Published and forthcoming works:Suraya and a Glass of Red Wine, a compilation of short stories - forthcomingA Breeze Through the Window - 1997 - Ayandeh Publishing - Vancouver, CanadaHarmonizing with the Dawn-Dusk Duet - 2014 - Boutimar Publishing - IranWith My Shadows, I Created Myself, Asemana Books - Toronto, CanadaLeaf-Hair of Autumn Trees, a collection of short poems and several haiku-style verses - forthcomingSuraya and a Glass of Red Wine, a compilation of short stories - forthcoming
