Martin Lawson grew up a fighter. Born in Chicago and raised in a single parent home in Seattle, Martin became accustomed to fighting for what he wanted. In spite of his experience as a fighter Martin never expected the fight for his life when he became involved in gangs, drugs, and the violent lifestyle that accompanied these activities. My Brother’s keeper chronicles Martin’s battle for his soul and his eventual victory over the deadly obstacles in his life. His is a story of deliverance which leads him to devote his life to God and return to his community to minister in the very areas where he once sold and used drugs. The record of how Martin turned his life around, acquired a Bachelor’s in Theology and a Master’s Degree in Divinity, while becoming an ordained minister and mentoring at risk youth, is a tale the world needs to hear.
