Jayne Chan grew up in a conservative household where it was difficult to be herself. Eventually, though, she had the strength to live her truth by coming out as a member of the LGBTQ community. Although first riddled with loneliness and depression, she eventually found her destined relationship on the difficult path to self-discovery.My Beautiful Sweetheart, My Timeless Love is a love story dedicated to the woman who made Chan’s life whole. In this poetry collection, she bravely reveals her innermost feelings for her soul mate. Despite distance, Chan expresses love that breaks all boundaries. Discovering her darling changed her life by proving that love is possible and very, very real. For a long time, Chan feared allowing love into her life, but by careful seeking, she realized that love could be trusted. True love does not betray and leave us wrought by sadness. Her poems show that love is joy, sometimes preceded by pain, but that pain is healed by the connection of souls.

The very title of Edward V. Bonner's first volume of poetry, One Kiss (Ingram, 2015), suggests some ways in which the poems inside balance the universal with the particular.
