It is the general concept of the adult population of the world that when they hear of a book about the 'Chain Gang', it must consist from cover to cover of brutality, degradation, inhumane, bloody fighting and any other demon-possessed action known to man. Not so in this book entitled, 'My 38 Years in the Chain Gang.' It consists of a sprinkling of misconduct and insubordination, but you will find it bearable and many times 'humorous'!! The author’s intention was not to horrify the reader nor billify the officers and instructors of this first offender, minimum security institution, but to bring the reader a pleasant, enjoyable few hours of entertainment and information about the concealed lifestyle of the inmates and staff.
