Nestled in the serene realm of the Garhwal Himalayas, Mussoorie-the queen of hills, has long been a place of quiet retreat. A sanctuary of tranquillity, a muse for writers, a haven for those who seek solace in nature’s timeless beauty. From our casa, perched above the Doon Valley, we’ve been granted front-row seats to Mussoorie’s open-air symphony. We have been fortunate to witness its ever-changing hues- be it the amber glazed sunsets, the captivating winterline, billowing clouds, fog-laced twilight hours or the panoramic views that stretch beyond the horizon. Living amidst this ever-changing canvas, we often found ourselves reaching for the camera trying to hold onto fleeting moments of transcendence. What started as casual snapshots from our home soon turned into a quiet ritual- capturing the ever-changing canvas that unfurled like untold stories. As the seasons unfolded, so our desire to etch it into a coffee table book began to take root. This book is a humble attempt to capture the magic of Mussoorie through a visual journey woven with tiny odes that reflect the unspoken moments behind each breathtaking image. The book offers glimpses into the Mussoorie we have cherished through picturesque seasons. More than a curated collection, it’s a melange of moments where every nook in the woods holds a story. Not just a book but a refined piece of décor- a tasteful addition that elevates any space with soulful warmth. For those who wish to carry a piece of Mussoorie in their hearts-this book is for you! For every soul who’s walked its trails, admired its distant peaks, savoured celestial skyline or simply yearned for crisp mountain air. May these pages evoke quiet magic this hill resort offers each day!Our heartfelt offering- a tribute to Mussoorie etched in love and quiet reverence. With gratitude,

‘There’s a touch of both Dickinson and Larkin in Jennifer Chrystie’s mature exhumation of the tales and tropes of family. The collection arcs from, at one extreme, the parsimonies of the household, to the transce...

  • One Kiss
    Edward V Bonner
The very title of Edward V. Bonner's first volume of poetry, One Kiss (Ingram, 2015), suggests some ways in which the poems inside balance the universal with the particular. Most of the poems examine the themes of beauty and risk, pleasure and danger, in the context of one of three kinds of relationships: to romantic partners, to the spiritual world, and to the world of nature....
