Este trabalho parte da hipótese de uma nova leitura de João Cabral de Melo Neto, em específico, de uma obra: Museu de Tudo (1975). A construção de Museu de Tudo como um apanhado de poemas arquivados sugere a construção de um jogo sistemático entre eles, em linha reta ou não. A obra é composta por oitenta poemas, sendo o quadragésimo poema intitulado “Duplo Díptico”, trazendo a ideia de uma estruturação que se comunica entre si por dobras e desdobras. Poemas como “Díptico” e “Duplo Díptico” fornecem indícios para nossa hipótese de leitura através de uma “dobra” que divide os oitenta poemas ao meio quando colocados em um quadro geral. A hipótese aqui é de uma leitura da dobra central, funcionando como um espelho que conecta os poemas dessa “base-centro”, que se dobra. Partindo dessa teoria, estabeleceremos conexões simbólicas e hermenêuticas que surgem da construção memorial do poeta, perpassam a arquitetura e o urbanismo moderno, e chegam até a literatura, o barroco, a dança flamenca e o futebol. Museu de Tudo, ao refletir uma organização temática que exterioriza uma espécie de materialização entre vida e obra de João Cabral, nos remete à condição de compreender esse livro como um projeto estético e crítico específico dentro do conjunto da obra do poeta pernambucano. 10
