Este libro contiene un análisis sobre la migración femenina indígena contemporánea que tiene como destino los principales lugares urbanos en Panamá.Un trabajo etnográfico que recoge vivencias y significados que ellas mismas dan al hecho de migrar a las ciudades.Conocer los principales patrones y causas de esa particular migración, así como las condiciones de vida y trabajo en los lugares de destino, es objetivo central de este trabajo.Además de ser una apuesta de la autora por la antropología feminista, esta publicación brinda una revisión bibliográfica y documental sobre el tema y un resumen de la historia de las migraciones ngäbe, guna y emberá con destino a las ciudades.Las nuevas identidades étnicas indígenas en territorio urbano son una muestra de la resistencia de estos pueblos ante las nuevas formas de colonización y racismo en sociedades marcadas por múltiples sistemas de dominación.
