Inhaltsangabe:Einleitung: In dieser Diplomarbeit werden drei der für den deutschen Markt wichtigsten PC-basierten Übersetzungsprogramme bewertet und verglichen. Dabei werden die Übersetzungsrichtungen Englisch/Deutsch und Deutsch/Englisch untersucht. Die für die Evaluierung verwendeten Programmversionen waren Globalink Power Translator Pro 6.2, Langenscheidts T1 Standard plus 3.0 und PONS Personal Translator plus/plus 98. Die Bewertung erfolgte anhand von vier realen Texten (zwei Bedienungsanleitungen und zwei Geschäftsbriefe) und einer Vielzahl von Einzelsätzen, die bestimmte Übersetzungsprobleme beinhalten. Auch die Programmeigenschaften und Funktionsmerkmale wurden in die Betrachtung einbezogen.
